About the Book
Bird in Four Parts
The beak sings
finds words for silence
fills in spaces
where longing might explode
The wing flies
finds a way to escape
offers freedom to the whole body
thinks to rise
above a concrete realm
The eye pierces
sees the hole in the universe
where things leak out
where we will all go
when this is finished
when we have seen our last video
eaten our last burger
The feather floats,
after the collision
of bird and building,
of heart and highrise,
slowly, painfully
sinking to earth
